Magic Whiteboard Wins West Midlands Most Promising Business of Year 2009 - British Chamber of Commerce
Magic Whiteboard Limited, based in Worcester, has been named as the West Midlands’ Most Promising New Business of the Year, sponsored by BT Business. It now goes through to compete for the national crown at this year’s British Chambers of Commerce Awards in London on 26th November 2009.http://www.chamberawards.co.uk/2009/
The forward-thinking stationery firm’s main brand is the Magic Whiteboard: a unique product in roll-form that allows the user to create a portable whiteboard wherever they are within seconds. Its stockists include Ryman Stationery, Office Depot/Viking Direct, and Eason’s in Ireland.
In 2008 the company appeared on TV show Dragons’ Den, which significantly boosted sales – turnover is set to triple this year to £1.5m. The concept won backing from all four Dragons and subsequently managing director Neil Westwood chose Theo Paphitis and Deborah Meaden as his business partners, securing £100,000 of investment.
The region’s judges were impressed with the company’s profit growth, and commended it for its continued product innovation and forward planning.
