Dragons Den Magic Whiteboard Managing Director Neil Westwood will be at The Skills Show Friday 16th November with Theo Paphitis . The UKs biggest skills and careers event, provides a fantastic opportunity for young people to become inspired and learn more about education, skills and apprenticeship opportunities.

Taking place at the NEC Birmingham from 15-17 November 2012 this free show provides the perfect opportunity to meet employers and talk with real people about real jobs.
Visitors are invited to join thousands of young people from across the country to unlock their potential and ‘have a go’ at a new skill, trade or occupation – including floristry, game design, bricklaying, building a race car, and much more. They will also be able to get up to the minute careers advice to help them discover their true potential from organisations such as City & Guilds, premier sponsor of The Skills Show.
Exhibitors include colleges, universities and learning providers from across the whole of the UK, there to talk to visitors about the different entry routes into a host of career sectors.
What’s more, some of the biggest names across a vast range of industries are on hand to inspire the next generation. In the engineering sector alone, top employers such as BAE Systems, Jaguar Land Rover and Morelli will be showcasing their programmes aiming to attract the brightest talent.
A range of live, hands-on skills competitions, awards and activities are also set to take place at the show, building on the saying that ‘seeing is believing’. Visitors will be inspired by a huge range of vocations in action, as the best of the nation’s young talent perform in the WorldSkills UK Competitions.
Visitors will also be entertained by Showcase sessions which will include demonstrations on theatrical make-up, circus skills, hair sculpture and food presentation.
You may even get the chance to see some famous faces who will be visiting the show. These include British field hockey Olympic Bronze medallist, Sally Walton; Nick Holzherr, star of BBC TV’s The Apprentice, and founder of food website, Whisk ; and Alan Bird, ex executive chef of London’s famous ‘The Ivy’ restaurant, all of whom will be giving real-life practical insights and advice into the world of work and skills.
